MollyAnna Maternity recently launched a new web site as well as a brand new blog to discuss celebrity maternity gossip, pregnancy news and style.
MollyAnna still offers cute maternity tees and tanks with funny slogans, but has also evolved the line to include designer stroller bags (or diaper bag alternatives) in unique fabrics, daddy t-shirts, new baby tees and infant onesies, as well as a line of body products. Of note is a large selection of one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces by designer Renee McCartney.
The blog, which offers a subscription service by e-mail or RSS feed, brings new products and promotions to subscribers, but also discusses celebrity pregnancies and is set to include topics of interest to new moms and expecting moms.
This brand new addition to the blogging community needs time to grow; currently the posts have been strictly informational and offer some links and resources, however owner Molly Britt is to begin posting and moderating next week. Britt plans to grow the blog into a meeting place inviting personal discussion on pregnancy and parenting issues, maternity style and celebrity news. Everyone is invited to join in and post comments, and subscribers will receive discounts and sales notifications.
Some of MollyAnna’s slogans are cute, others are cutting, and a few have even caused some controversy.
Birth Control is for Sissies, the slogan that started it all, garnered some opposition from planned parenting groups, while I Can Grow People offended some who were having trouble conceiving.
Britt contends it’s all in good fun and that none of her maternity shirts are meant to offend or be political. Birth Control is for Sissies was uttered as a joke to her husband after Britt looked down at her hugely disproportionate belly and realized she would have to be pretty tough to push that baby out. I Can Grow People was a tongue-in-cheek salute to women’s creative powers.
Some of MollyAnna’s most popular tees include slogans such as It ain’t easy being queasy, I doubt this is the threesome husbands have in mind, and It’s not mine. Dads are celebrated with supportive daddy t-shirts like Family Dude, Be kind to me the Queen is pregnant and Ice cream and pickles fetcher.
It’s funny ’cause it’s true seems to be the motto at MollyAnna. Meanwhile, the company will continue to explore some of the most humorous aspects of pregnancy. Stay tuned for new slogans and funky maternity fashions from the MollyAnna brand.
